Why You Shouldn’t Miss The KCC Farmer’s Market On Oahu, Hawaii
If you love farmer’s markets, then you don’t want to miss the KCC Farmer’s Market on Oahu. It’s located at the University of Hawaii Kapi’olani Community College at 4303 Diamond Head. And, it takes place on Tuesdays from 4-7pm and on Saturdays from 7:30-11am. If you’re visiting Waikiki, it’s conveniently close, a long walk or a cheap Lyft ride away. I went on a Saturday morning, and while being really crowded, it’s still one of my favorite Farmer’s Markets.
The KCC Farmer’s Market Food Vendors
For me, the highlight of the market was the food vendors there. The Pig and the Lady is my favorite restaurant in Honolulu, so I loved being able to get my favorite soups from there at the market. Their ox tail pho is just ridiculous and one of the best bowls of pho I’ve ever had. It made for the perfect breakfast.
There are lots of other food choices, too, such as mango and ginger prawns, kimchi fried rice, Li Hing pineapple Ono popsicles, and ahi. You can see the full list of vendors by clicking here.
Other KCC Farmer’s Market Offerings
Also, if you have a love for tropical Hawaiian flowers, like I do, you won’t find a better deal for them than at the KCC Farmer’s Market. There were plenty of stalls with freshly cut flowers and other tropical plants that you could take home and plant in the garden.
There are also plenty of tropical fruits for your enjoyment, too. While a little more costly than some of the other farmer’s markets, it’s still a great way to try some of the Hawaiian specialties like lychee and dragon fruit.
All of the produce at the market is incredibly fresh and grown locally, so it’s nice to support the farmer’s that grow such amazing things in Hawaii.
The highlight of the market was meeting the spunky Dina from Dina’s Garden. She made a pretty decent Thai iced coffee, and meeting her and hearing her stories made my day.
I really hope to be half this adorable when I’m her age. She also served iced tea, lemonade, and a few home-baked goodies.
The KCC Farmer’s Market is a great experience for both locals and tourists to try some of Oahu’s food highlights and to take home some beautiful produce for cooking at home.
